Default Pet questions

Ok so I've never used a ranger pet and some skill changes got me interested in them but I had some questions about them.

Is it important to carry around a animal res skill? Do they summon that animal to you?

How much DPS on average do they do and does this make them worth the 2 or 3 skill slots?

Which shouts do you preffer?

Shouts can stack sortof right if they dont have similar affects?

are their any necro spells that work with pets?

am i correct in assuming that monk resurect works on pets?

Does getting a pet ("Petting"? That can't be right) work on any non-monster animal? When I was wandering around near the farms, I swear I saw a rabbit. Labeled, "Rabbit". I should have taken a screen shot but I hadn't found the butten yet.

Monk resurect does NOT work on pets. If you want to be a beast mastery ranger, I suggest you bring revive animal. Comfort animals healing abilities aren't very good and it doesn't rez very effectively for you or your pet. I also suggest being a secondary monk so you can heal your pet. Monk heals work on pets, rezes don't.

No... You can't tame any non-monster. It says "charm animal" not "charm anything with a green bar". You can charm enemy wolves (located in old ascalon) as well as melandrus stalkers, and if it weren't for the skill "charm breaker", you could tame bears. Other animals are Lynxes, Snow Wolves, and Warthogs. Not to mention Moa Birds and Striders.

Depending on whether you are in a PvP or PvE situation, your animal may likely die. There are only 2 skills that can res a pet. Once the animal comes back to life, it will return to your side, if you are not being attacked, etc.

DPS varies immensley depending on a variaety of factors including pet type, pet level, beastmastery level, and shouts/buffs.

I have had pretty good luck in the last BWE stacking Call of Feeding with Call of Haste and Call of Brutality however 30en is a bit steep for all those at once..

Necro minion spells do not work with pets. Their ally spells and corpse spells do work though.

You can only charm a small number of creatures that are considered animals. The "rabbit" is considered an "invalid target". Another error i often got was "this creature is not an animal" which occured ironically enough on that raging bull and the fern lizards.

I helped a lower level Ranger (my friend of course) and a few times both our stalkers died and I was able to rez both of them at the same time.

Poo. I was thinking how much fun it would be going into combat with my bow and my trusty rabbit. ^_^ If I could bring him into PvP areas, it'd be even better: First they'd say "what the heck?", then they'd be laughing, then they'd be lying on the floor bleeding, and we'd be making Monty Python and Warner Brothers references.

C'mon, it'd be funny. ^_^

I have some pet questions:

1) Whats the best pet? It seems Melandru's Stalkers are common.

2) If you unequip Charm Animal, then reequip it, does you animal stay?
